Or does the app stop functioning properly after the update, perhaps showing error messages? If it's a licensing issue, then it's possible the Windows Update makes the program believe it's a new installation and requires activation again. But if it's simply stopping the program from running correctly, you could try updating the program to the latest version from the website to see if it's more compatible with the latest Windows updates.
