My daughter gets bored during the summer and there were so many fun options. The KJS classroom is an action—packed, multi-sensory, systematic and highly engaging approach to introducing or reinforcing early literacy skills to students.

Each KJS classroom has 15 students. Audience: Incoming kindergarteners school year. Space is limited; contact your school for availability. Contact participating school. Devices: All students will need access to a desktop computer, laptop, or Chromebook to participate in these classes. Registration: On the registration form, you will choose 3 classes that your child is interested in attending.

Enrollment will be determined based on interest and class sizes. You will be contacted prior to the class starting on which class your child has been enrolled in. This summer camp provides an opportunity for students who are identified gifted to participate in a summer experience designed specifically for their needs. Gifted students will benefit from time spent with their intellectual peers in these fun and intellectually engaging courses.

Students can attend one or both camps if space is available! Transportation: We will have transportation from each east side elementary school to Quail Run Elementary in June. The transportation schedule will be shared once student enrollment is complete.

Students must be registered by Wednesday, June The camp weeks are June 17 to 21, June 24 to 28, July 8 to 12 and July 15 to Carmel High School. The camps are open to children outside of the district as well. One popular camp is a camp that teaches children how to sew.

Another popular camp has children writing their own book, McAndrews said, which will be self-published in a camp anthology and submitted to the Poway Library for circulation. The camps also offer a variety of art and multimedia camps, including digital photography, creating a comic book, paper crafts, learning to play the ukulele, a musical theater camp, making origami and more.

Science, technology, engineering and math camps are also popular, with camps that include beginning programming, Lego robotics, robotics and automation, a STEM water building camp and more. An Anatomy Academy camp allows students to explore the human body. A healthy cooking and exercise class will teach students how to make healthy snacks, the basics of healthy eating, yoga and how to handle stress.
