Hi all, We've released a patch addressing the Firefox 24 Crash issue which is now available via LiveUpdate. Norton Toolbar : View Accepted Solution in Context. Danksagungen 0. F 4 E Guru Norton-Titan Thanks Hi stw, You mention you did the update to N after updating firefox. Things happen. Hi everyone, Thanks for reporting this issue.

Please post the following information when reporting this issue: - The order of events for installing products. You can find this in the Firefox Add-ons. With this information, we can better understand the issue. My add-ons had been updated 3 days ago and worked fine with FF Have you reboted lately?

Yes, I rebooted. Hi everyone, Thanks for the great info. Tony, The problem can be resolved by going into addons and disabling the toolbar, then rebotting. I tried this and just had another crash of FF after about 5 minutes of random browsing. The only solution I have successfully tried untill now is disabling the addon.

I have the impression it gets even worse. I'm trying to browse for the last hour with FF and addons enabled, now it crashes about every 5 minutes. Guys, not to complain, but it seams this is about the second time there are issues with the NIS addons for FF. I remember with version 23 that it took weeks and weeks to get this straightened out.

Please tell me this is not again the road we are going to take here Krusty13 Guru Norton-Titan Hi all, I know this won't help anyone here, but I thought I would share my experience with Norton v21 and Firefox Here's mine. Windows 10 x64 21H2 Mint Cinnamon Xantheous Oft zu Besuch 3.

By now, I've tried several options. I had barely been using the reinstall of FF24 for 5 minutes when I already had a crash again.

I am trying Firefox in Safe Mode today so we'll see if I have any crashes. I haven't had as frequent of crashes the past couple days as when I first downloaded However, I have left Firefox open with just a few tabs up and been away from the computer for a few hours and come back to a crashed Firefox. Please start your own thread then post back here to confirm you have done that. That makes it much easier to give you the correct advice, and anyone who wishes may follow your progress.

I see on the Norton forum thread has now reached 9 pages but it is getting attention from their developers and there is mention of news soon, with a fix being tested. There are other threads where Norton software is involved, and possibly additional crash signatures.

Good it got fixed, a little note on Firefox not working in safe mode is add-on related. My FireFox did crash over and over, and in my case it did not always work in safe mode either. After several days testing, it seems to be one or more of the Updates in Windows Update as of late the makes this happen. Simply uninstalling those fixed the problem.

Wesley Branton. If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme. You can open Firefox 4. Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled We believe we have resolved the internet connectivity issue.

You will be asked to reboot your machine when the update is available to your machine via the LiveUpdate. Please retest and let us know if you are still experiencing the issue.

After reading you post, I went to that surviving one, verified that NOF 2. I'm really, really sorry, but after more than 15 days, we can't really be again at the starting point AND with my last functional laptop for the children now KO We will continue to check into the issue. For now, please use Internet Explorer or Chrome as browser. I have this issue with all IE, Chrome and Firefox. I got the 2.

The 2. Note: Norton Family is on version 26, but the signatures are on version 21 still. I do know have the ver 26 update on Win7 Pro 64 bit. My Win7 Ult 64 bit I haven't checked yet - I don't want to reboot that one now. I haven't tested it out to see if the problem is fixed on the Win7 Pro computer yet. Can you please let us know what security products and versions you have on the PC that is still experiencing the internet connectivity issue?

I decided to uninstall and reinstall Norton Family on this computer before I saw your message. That's why it's back on version I reinstalled Norton Family, ran live update, rebooted, ran live update again and it still isn't updating Norton Family to 2.

This was causing a major slowdown in speed. My link speed was showing 1 Gbps, but it definitely was not that fast. Instead of taking less than 1 minute to download the 15mb Norton Family, it was going to take at least 15 minutes and likely longer.

I replaced the bad surge protector. I wonder if my incredibly slow connection may have contributed to the issue with Norton Family or any other browser extension like Last Pass couldn't do what it needed and locked up the browser.

I won't know until Norton Family decides to update on it's own. I don't know Suffice it to say, that I am reluctant to re-install NOF. I am tempted to try back sometime in November, lol. Unfortunately, I am still paying for the service in the meantime Regardless, should I attempt to re-install NOF?

I hate to lose that Qiu, what do you think I should do? I have a feeling that you would instruct me to re-install NOF and report back my findings However, I just r e a l l y don't want to do that I'm almost inclined to sit back and let Norton completely "iron this out" so to speak then swoop in when everything works However, with this mentality, will Norton ever be able to effectively get to the bottom of this if no one is reporting their findings? Decisions, decisions.

After battling confliction in my soul, I will probably re-install NOF I have tried using LiveUpdate and it says it installed 4 updates, but the NF version still says 2. And I still have the problem. When I install NF and enable the add-on in Firefox 24, then whenever I try exiting Firefox, it hangs and Windows asks me if I want to close it or wait.

IE works okay, as long as Firefox is sitting open, or completely closed, but not if Firefox is in its hung state. IE opens and exits just fine, but I don't like to use it. Today my computer updated to ver I tested it out and it still hangs in Firefox and IE. Don't know if it helps, but I usually test by opening like 4 tabs and hit several sites in 1 or 2 of them. When I was waiting to see if the processes were going to end on their own, I noticed that there is two nf.

The "security products" I mentioned in my previous post was referring to the products like Norton or any other security products in the market. Please let me know. Are you able to reproduce the internet connectivity issue consistently? Thanks for the feedback. I"ve worked with users with internet connectivity issue, but they are not able to reproduce the issue while I'm on the remotes session with them.

If you have the latest Norton Family 2. The latest Norton Family 2. If you haven't received the message yet, we are working on the release that allows users to download the latest version 2. Uh oh, uh oh! The lovely Ms. Qiu responded to me…. That means I get anouther opportunity to confess my feelings and ask for her hand in marriage, LOL! Courted by numerous suitors, the stunning Ms. Qiu is the envy of all her co-workers. In , a meager year prior to joining this forum, she won the coveted Miss Philippines Earth title.

With sage intelligence and ravishing beauty, only time and her boundless imagination will tell what the future holds….

But, for you, even though I am exhausted from dealing with other computer frustrations, I will do my best to provide more information on this issue. Tonight, I can attest to the fact that I did not receive a prompt to install the latest Norton Family version - - even with a re-start. Therefore, I still had to deal with the problematic version 2. I don't use any SocNets because I like to have a life, and I can't think of any celebrities I want to threaten in characters!

Et voila! I' m not sure if an update has changed anything I've had this problem for a while now, and updated several times since , or it had simply something to do with switching ID Protect on and off, but it seems to gave done the trick. Why Symantec feel the need to bury NTB settings like that when a button on the bar itself would do and used to have , I don't understand. Until it went unsupported, II had a great earlier version of v5 - which had customizable scans, and didn't open different screens for every process; now I can have four task bar items running at once when conducting my weekly scan, and have to shutdown two of them myself.

N 21 is bloaty, slow to load and harder to use. Stick with NIS! I think this will be the last time I'll use Norton after decades as a customer using Norton products. But until then, many thanks, Yank for the pointers. It's nice to have less clutter on my browser. First thing I would ask for you to do is run LiveUpdate rebooting when requested until such time as LiveUpdate responds with the exact words "no updates found".

Please up[date both systems.
